Secret Santa’s Special Delivery
I haven’t had a second to stop by my post box in almost a week–it’s located in the post office which has such convenient hours (10am-4pm)–and when I finally made it there, my box was overflowing with holiday goodies! Not only did my Book Blogger Holiday Gift Swap present arrive, but I also received a wonderful card from Megan of Write Meg!
Kudos to all involved in organizing this terrific swap. This is such a great tradition and it really promote a sense of community and good cheer. I have to say that book bloggers are such a great group of people. I life blogged for almost 2 years before starting Book, Line, and Sinker, and made a core group of 6 blogger friends, but the huge community here makes it so much easier to meet people and make friends.
Anyway, I had a grand time shopping for my Secret Santa (Emily of Faith Adeline reviews). I intended to buy her some books (though I think she would have been happier with a gift card to a coffee shop if her some of her photos are any guide) but ended up purchasing a journal, mousepad, candy, and other goodies.
My Secret Santa was Maria from Fantasys Ink and she sent me a book in a new-to-me genre–Urban Fantasy. I was thrilled to receive Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr and the cover was so gorgeous that I dove right into it! Thanks, Maria!
And now, it’s back to the kitchen for me. I’m baking cookies and wrapping gifts in a blizzard-imposed lockdown. We have about 6 inches of snow on the ground and more on the way. The only question is…will I get a snow day out of this on Monday?
